From the Director of RIKEN Center for Molecular Imaging Science: A message to all researchers and their families affected by the Tohoku-Pacific Ocean Earthquake.

March 23, 2011

Dear friends and colleagues:

All of us at the RIKEN Center for Molecular Imaging Science have been following with horror and sadness the plight of the people of Tohoku during the earthquake and tsunami of March 11 and its aftermath. We send our prayers for the repose of the souls who lost their lives and we extend our heartfelt sympathy to the displaced victims.
As recovery efforts continue, you will have the support and resources not only from Japan but from all over the world. The RIKEN Center for Molecular Imaging Science, as the core center for molecular imaging research, would like to offer our support to all researchers at universities and research institutions who have been affected by the disaster to help minimize the impact on research activities in these areas. Please feel free to consult us at:

We hope for the fast recovery and re-establishment of your research activities.
With deepest sympathy,

Yasuyoshi Watanabe
