title
To look inside the body without harming the body, X-ray photography, MRI, and CT scans are some of the techniques used to visualize a body region by generating black-and-white images. Molecular imaging technology allows us to trace and observe the movements of biological molecules or pharmaceutical drugs from outside the body by labeling the molecule of interest and injecting it into the body.
Since the location, size, and progress of cancer can be seen in a glance, further advancements in this field will lead to greater efficiency of the drug discovery process and discoveries of new diagnostic methods; even the development of new drug treatments for conditions currently considered difficult to cure (e.g. cancer, lifestyle-related disease, dementia, depression) will no longer be only a dream.
